Im taking a Caribbean cruise that stops in Cozumel for one day. I want to make the most of our day on the island, but I'm not sure what to do...can anyone offer any suggestions?

Rent a scooter and head to Chankanab Parque and/or the eastern side of the Island (watch the surf...) Then back to town or south of town (next to the Casa del Mar) to "Ernesto's fajita factory" for some of the best fajita's!!! Skip the rif-raff of the "touristy" stuff like Carlos and Charlies and Hard Rock.

I WOULD ALSO SUGGEST CHANKANAAB WHERE YOU CAN SNORKEL,TAN,SEE RUINS AND GARDENS OR SWIM WITH DOLPHINS ETC. I WOULD SUGGEST AFTER SOME SHOPPING IN TOWN AND DINNER AT LA VERANDA, GREAT SEAFOOD AND CREPE SUZETTES.ENJOY

I agree with going to Chankanab Park, it has a lot of variety and can fill your daylight hours ashore. But, the taxis are so cheap, I'd suggest that, as the fares are set and obvious and posted when you get in so, no suprises. Also, faster than filling out forms and waivers and no chance for road rash riding a scooter on roads you aren't familiar with. You want to get to the beach, not a scooter rental office!
After the beach, shower at the ship and go into town to shop. The street behind the one by the water has some great little hideaways to enjoy a more relaxed drink or four. If you like wall to wall booze sweaty people and the sound of the music, then carlos and Charlies is worth a peek. Especially if you're under 25.
