Price of Alcohol

I am going to aruba in Feb and staying in the Lacabana which has suites so I wanted to buy alcohol down in Aruba and make my own drinks in my room. Does anyone know the price of Alcohol in Aruba stores. Is it more, less or equal to the US prices?

We stayed there about a year and a half ago. Great place. We got the all inclusive, so we didn't venture out and buy liquor on the market. One thing to watch out for: the weekends. They fill up with locals bringing their kids to use the pools and slide, but the weekedays are not hectic at all. There is plenty of shopping in town, and prices are comparable to America. The liquor shouldn't be overly expensive. The suites are completely set up, dishes and silverware. Very well set up.

We have been to Aruba many times and have stayed at LaCabana a couple of times (Love it!). Last year we brought some vodka with us. If you want to drink vodka or whiskey or something like that, it is expensive, but if you are a rum drinker, it is reasonable. Liquor is available in the grocery store and there is a large one near La Cabana--bus ride or walk.

We may try staying in an apartment this time. Any ideas

Thank you for your suggestions. I just dont see the point in packing all that alcohol if we can get it just as cheap down in Aruba. This year we are going to be cooking alot in the BBQ pits at the Lacabana. We have a group of 15 of us going so we thought we would try to save money on drinks. Thanks again. only 20 more days for me until we head out.
