We are planning a vacation on Turks & Caicos. I would like some feedback on the best place to stay. Ocean Club, Ocean Club West, Coral Gardens, The Sands, Royal West Indies?

If you like to snorkle, the reef is right in front of Coral Gardens.

I just returned from Turks at the end of Jan. We stayed at the Sands and absolutely loved it. They have screened porches. My sister and her husband also stayed at the Royal West Indies last April and loved it. No screens on the porches. The Sands was very clean and the people were not just pleasant, they seemed to really enjoy their jobs. Hope this helps.

We stayed at the Coral Gardens and as Bill said, if you snorkle this is the place. Lovely accomodations and friendly, competent staff.

If you stay in teh summer, the rates are half price and it's nicer than those you mentioned and next to the reef.

You must stay on Grace Bay if you go to Provo of T&C. We stayed at the original Ocean Club about 2 years ago and compeletely enjoyed the stay. Best to go scuba diving..it is one of the best areas of the caribbean.

I'm thinking of going to Turks and Caicos island myself. Seems like Coral Gardens is a big hit. Are there any other Hotels/Resort that offers snorkeling on the property? Besides snorkeling on hotel properties are there other areas that we can go snorkeling? Any secluded areas on this island that one can travel by canoe or kayak?

The Turks & Caicos Club is next to the reef. The problem with Coral Gardens is that non-guests use up all of CG's beach chairs. This isn't the case at TCC. You have the reef and the privacy of your own beach, too.
