Nightlife in Punta Cana

I am heading down for a few weeks (last week of april, first week of may) to the LTI Beach Resort in punta cana and I am wondering about the nightlife. I am going to be on my own for a few days as my friends weeks don't overlap the same. do many singles go down there? Are the bars a good place to meet people or are most people down there couples and older?? I am 30 and hoping to meet some people to party some with. I was in puerta plata and there were a lot of univ grads so it was easy, but I have heard punta cana can be very quiet and slow?? any comments are appreciated. And if your going down at the time let me know!
