We were able to see monkeys on Grenada last year and heard that Nevis is suppose to be a MONKEY ISLAND. My 7 year old granddaughter has her heart set on seeing monkeys on this trip. Can anyone tell me if we'll see them on Nevis? Is there any other islands where sould encounter them? Thanks so much!

Another island you will definitely see monkeys is St. Kitts.
At Turtle Beach Bar & Grill you can see Tarzana the resident monkey and at Monkey Hill, named for the more than 125,000 green African monkeys that inhabit the island.

you should be able to see monkeys on nevis st kitts, dominica,st vincent. check out the tourism sites on the internet and you should be able to narrow down to which island gives you the best chance for monkey sightings.

When we were on St. Kitts we saw Monkeys. They were visable during a rainforest walk although they stayed away from people. Our guide said the local farmers hate them because they damage crops. You are almost always going to see one or two at Turtle beach.

It's funny...when this was question first posted I also thought of Barbados, but didn't mention it because it changed from 1990 to 2000 (my 1st and a more recent visit. The Animal Reserve there uses a green monkey as it's logo and in 1990 they were all over the place. On our later visit to the reserve we didn't see a single monkey. We asked why not and were told that nearby construction of condos had scared most of the monkeys into the woods (they were always free to enter and leave the open reserve as they wished) and they only returned at the morning and late afternoon feeding times. So, I am curious as to whether they are back in droves all day long at the reserve, or where the other writer saw them. The reserve was a great place and the return of the monkeys would be great!
