Going to the Exumas in June

We will be visiting the Exumas in June. Can anybody recommend any good guidebooks?

At least I THINK it's a novel. The author swears the events are true. Great book about an adventure/mystery in the Exumas in the 1940s. Half Hemmingway, half Hardy Boys.

I'm willing to bet that the events told in Staniel Cay are not true.

Nevertheless, I did enjoy the tale.

FYI -- The book costs less if you buy it directly from www.nickfinneran.com, versus Amazon or elsewhere. Not sure why.
