View Full Version : Caribbean Travel in July
My husband and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary in July 2006, and would like to take an all-inclusive vacation - without kids, but I am concerned about the weather for travelling to the Caribbean in July. Where would be the best place to go without the constant rain or risk of hurricane. Also, having never been there before, looking for input on romantic, lazy vacations without being swamped by kids or "young" honeymooners.

Hi there! My recommendation would be Aruba. It is essentially out of the hurricane belt, and because it is a desert island (there are iguanas and cacti everywhere!) if it does rain, it last for all of 10 seconds!
You will find kids there, but not like many of the other islands. We have been several times and are heading back to Aruba this June for our 18th anniversary. We travel the Caribbean extensively, and this is our fave island.
The shopping is amazing, gold and diamonds are soooo cheap! Beaches are the best, very calm water for swimming!

Well, when you say romantic and not a ton of kids, you've brought me back to Barbados. At 13o latitude, hurricanes rarely touch this emrald in the blue Caribbean. The west coast has sevral all inclusives, Almond Beach being one, on soft sand beaches with some of the prettiest sunsets right outside your room, at 6:30 daily. The food here is island wonderful, with simple to exotic dishes to tease your palate. The people are smiling and welcoming. And, when you do need to get away from the beach and need a break from the room (nudge-nudge, wink wink) there are many sights to see, including beautiful Andromeda Gardens. There are many islands I love, but for romance and ease of finding an all inclusive, this is my pick. Enjoy!
Paige and any others - any suggestions on where to stay in Aruba? Couples Only resorts? Looking for quiet, beaches, more secluded and less busy.

Hi Velvet, I was going to give you to Aruban sites to go onto and look up hotels, but not sure if that is proper protocol on this site! I don't want to recommend a specific hotel when I am not sure what you are looking for exactly. I wouldn't want to lead you in the wrong direction. Email me and I will be happy to supply you with two great sites to look into Aruba a little further. I have some photos you may enjoy as well!
