There are lots that work for this. St Kitt's is great to explore and right next to it is Nevis with the Four Seasons hotel and some fine places to see there. St Martin which a lot of people like is a short hop from St. Barths, Statia or Saba. St Barth's is rather upper end, while the other two are places to totally excape. Grenada, is at the bottom end of the Grenadines chain which includes wonderful islands like Cannoan, Bequia, Mayreau and St. Vincent. A really sweet choice with French flavor Are Martinique and the nearby tiny isles of Isles de Saintes. If you want to go by air between islands, none of them are much more than 1 hour apart (usually much closer) and if you go by water between them, you find the smaller, more special places. Personally, the idea of visiting two islands with diffeent backgrounds (one English-one French perhaps) would sound like it would offer great variety to what you see and the people you'll meet. This web site has a map, pick two islands you like from what you read here or elsewhere, and go for it! And congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I would suggest St. Vincent and the Grenadines. You would be able to visit more than 2 islands because they are not far from each other. Day trips are possible via the ferries or plane, as well as tour operators. Accomodations in all price ranges. I've been staying at a family owned establishment on the main island-St. Vincent, Indian Bay for the past 13 yrs. The room rate in that time has risen a whopping $20. These ialands are the yet unspoiled Caribbean. Still quaint and not much affected by tourism YET. Although the changes do keep coming. The mainland didn't have traffic lights 13 yrs ago now they do which considering driving habits on the island this is a good thing. These are my favorites to visit. Bequia, Mustique, Canuoan all with in reasonable distances of each other.
