Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has heard how bad Jamacia got hit with hurricane Dennis?
Thanks!

The best resource is often the word of someone who was there, but the event was so recent, getting more than what we could all read in the papers would be difficult. Occasionally phone lines do survive, so calling the hotel may be a first option. Another resource is a web site, Hundred of Newspapers on the Net http://www.onlinenewspapers.com/ which has links to papers in the West Indies, in this case, Jamaica's Daily Gleaner (which is up and running). You could even contact the Jamaican consulate here in the US if still needed. I remember someone writing here about this trip here a while ago, and if it's you or not, I hope all goes well.

Out of curiousity I emailed Whitehouse Sandals Jamaica to ask how dennis affected them. The following was their reply. .... "Thank you for contacting Sandals and Beaches Resorts. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you.Hurricane Dennis merely brushed the Island of Jamaica. There was no
damage to our properties." Someone may wish to tell them the "brush" wasn't so light all over the island, but they seem to be in good shape. Enjoy and wishing you cool breezes!
