St. Thomas

Hi all. St. Thomas will be one of our ports on a cruise this Feb./06, and have heard that the jewellery shopping is second to none! We usually frequent Aruba which has fantastic jewellery shopping, but am thinking of holding out on Jan. trip to Aruba until we head to St. Thomas. I am looking for a beautiful diamond (very good quality) ring.
Any jewellery store suggestions I can hit while on St. Thomas for the day?

Hello Brenda! hope your cruise is awesome! You should go to CARDOWS in St.Thomas before anywhere else . That is a great place and has better prices than Colombian emeralds by far. Cardows in St. Thomas is as good as it gets in The Caribbean. If you have time you should also look around Havensite Mall. Great place, close to the port, lots of fun things to see you would have fun there!!

Hey Brenda, if you have time I would recommend you go to Mountain Top. It sits on the highest peak on St. Thomas and ther shopping there is just as good as Charlotte Amalie and the view at Mountain Top is like no other.Also the banana daquiris there are the best in the world. You can see 25 islands from the view there and Mountain ^Top is a beautiful place also. You shjould go there!!!! Havensite Mall is also as great place.

Forget mountain top for jewelry or diamonds.Downtown charlotte amalie, has all the gold and diamonds you could ever want,because pretty much every other shop is jewelry,so that me bargains galore.Go to mountain top for the view, but downtown if you want jewelry.

I agree with Caribbean Don, Cardow's is the best shop in Charlotte Amalie. The only other thing I would suggest is that you shop at a store that also carries a warranty and gives you the paperwork necessary for you to insure your purchase.

I told you Cardows is the place!! Ha ha. The store is great, the service is wonderful (we stopped in this September) and I hope you find exactly what you want. p.s. The best place to buy liquor is still a worthwile cab ride away to K-Mart. Better prices than downtown.

Again, thanks Carib Mark! Hubby will be looking at purchasing some booze, especially since we will be on a cruiseship, rather than just plopping ourselves down on an island (which is the norm for us). Booze and diamonds sounds like a great plan! What more could a girl want?!
