Just a quick note to all you Sandals guests that their hurricane guarantee has holes in it. Friends of ours evacuated Sandals at Dunns River Falls last year one day prior to Ivan hitting, when Sandals arranged a charter for guests wishing to leave after a general evacuation order was issued by the Prime Minister of Jamaica for coastal and low lying areas. At that point our friends had been on their honeymoon 3 days at Sandals resort, two of which in high winds, rain and poor conditions. When the evacuation order was given, Sandals arranged for a charter back to the mainland (Miami). Now when our friends have tried to receive the hurricane guarantee, they were told they would get three days since "they were not guests at the time the storm struck the island". Clever way of avoiding the guarantee. Needless to say their honeymoon was ruined, and Sandals response was to state that since they left on the Sandals charter they were not elligible for the guarantee, a fact that was not disclosed to them at the time of the charter offer. We won't be staying at Sandals anytime.
