Hi, just wondering if anyone has ever traveled to Roatan, and if so, could you help me with some information? We are thinking about traveling there next spring and I had a number of questions... We will be staying on West Bay Beach if we go. 1. what isthe general feel/atmosphere of the island? we've been to a few Caribbean islands and we loved them, but I do not think that it is considered Caribbean, nor is it as highly traveled, so I was wondering what the people were like? Is the island "touristy", is there crime? etc.
2. Money wise, is the island expensive? How are the food and booze prices? This will help dtermine how long we will be able to stay. Also, what type of currency is used there? 3. If anyone is familiar with the West Bay beach area, I would love some insights... Also, does it generally get crowded or rain alot in June? Generally, any information, good or bad, is appreciated since I do not know that much about the island and there is far less information available than other destinations.....
