My wife has lost her TX drivers license this week and we board a cruise ship next Friday. Has anyone had problems like this and was it resolved on the ship? We don't have passports and Texas does not have temporary licenses with pictures on them. We also cannot get one expedited in that short of time. We have an old drivers license, birth certificates and marriage license.

My suggestion, and it isn't cheap, is to contact the local Post office about getting an expidited Passport for your bride. You have the needed documents, and you may have to somewhere not that local to get this done, and it isn't cheap, but tha can expedite a passport in emergencies, but this may or may not be fast enough.Call 1-877-4USA-PPT (1-877-487-2778) Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Eastern Time. With changes in natioanl security and TSA requirements, pretty much everywhere that doesn't already require a passport will very soon. I suggest anyone who plans to travel outside the US make th e investment as soon as possible and get a passport. Besides everything else, it makes your trip easier, return less complicated and is worth it if you ever want to go somewhere at the last moment.

Good luck. You can get a passport in a short time so follow what was suggested. Having said that dependent on which islands you're visiting you may be in trouble.
