Is St Kitts as expensive as it apears to be on all the hotel/tourism websites?
Any advice out there?

If you stay on St Kitts the Marriott is the best spot to stay. But it isn't all inclusive so meals do add up. Cheapest alternative is to probably have a rental car and then eat at outside restaurants. The island itself is not expensive just the resort. Have been to almost all islands in the Caribbean via cruise ships or land based vacation. St kitts is an up and coming island and is still lacking in the activities department. But they are working on that.

St. Kitts is as expensive as you make it. We were there for 10 days about 2 years ago. We got an air/hotel pkg through Skyauction and stayed at Timothy Beach. We didn't rent a car, but we usually had breakfast at the resort and ate out every day since we were going into town and doing tours. We didn't find the island that expensive at all. If you want an expensive island then Turks & Caicos is one of those! Although, even on T&C we got an all inclusive resort for really cheap on Skyauction, so that took the bite out of that trip. If you do your research, I think any island can be affordable for most travel budgets. Hope this helps.

St. Kitts can be expensive if you stay and eat at the Marriott or Ottley's Plantation.
There are other hotels that are cheaper. There are lots of inexpensive and fun beach bars that you can visit.
