Can anyone suggest a hotel or lodging in Havana? I'm looking for a place that is safe, clean, and close proximity to the center of town. Thanks

Hi,

Ideally you want to be in Old Havana as all the main points of interest are there. There are plenty of hotels to chose from, all depends on your budget and the type you are after.

For example the 4* Hotel Sevilla is a good option, the building itself is about 100 years old though it has been refurb'd in recent years. It has a great 8th floor resturant with stunning views over the city and it also has a pool which is a rarity in Havana. It costs about £30 per person, per night.

For something a bit more cultural then the 3* Hotel Florida is a lovely, old converted merchant house with plenty of charm and history. Again location is great!

There are plenty of other, I have seen loads of hotels in Havana and would say any of the following a worth considering:

Hotel Sevilla, Hotel Raquel, Hotel Florida, The Telegrafo, Plaza Hotel, Ambos Mundos and the Saratoga (if you've got the budget.....stunning hotel!)

Cheers
