We are planning a family trip (kids age 9 & 11) to St. Thomas in November. Is the weather reliable for beach activities? And other than beach, snorkling and diving, what are the best things to see and do?

We've spent the past 3 Thanksgivings on St. John, a stones throw from St. Thomas. The weather was absolutely wonderful all 3 years. A couple of thunderstorms at night, never has the weather chased us indoors during the day. The water is great for snorkeling, we did plenty of that. Hurricane season is practically over, I'd say go for it.
Can't tell you much about what to do with children though.

I lived in St. Thomas for four years and loved it.
In the four years that I was there, there was maybe three weeks worth of bad weather - it's incredible.
Look into different hotels, I know they have quite a few programs for children. There are different tours (snorkeling, sightseeing, etc.) that are great for kids as well as adults.
You should take the ferry over to St. John (very inexpensive) and do the sightseeing tour over there as well. The Adventure Center at Frenchmen's Reef (Marriott) on St. Thomas handles a lot of tours, etc. They're awesome there.
Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any help.
