Little worried about the all inclusive thing. Not big on crowds.

I just came back from first visit to Negril and was not impressed.

Basically compared to what I was used to (you know which Island I am from), it was crowded, rough and ready (what they call "casual" I call "not well maintained") and generally not relaxing.

Mind you, I am not a fan of all inclusives in general, with the buffet lines and the drinking to get value for money etc....but I guess I am swimming against the tide, as they are the way things are going in most Caribbean Islands.

Of course the other reason all-inclusives are so popular in most Caribbean islands is due to such things as the crime rate, so resorts prefer to offer everything in one place to keep their guests away from risks etc.

I will not post anything commercial, but would suggest looking for a relaxed resort somewhere that will allow you to feel special on your honeymoon.

I have been to Jamaica 2 x this past year. We went to Beaches Negril and Beaches Grande Sport.........and LOVED it!!!!!!! In fact we are planning to return to Jamaica this June to Wyndham Rose Hall Resort.........we are in the business as well( my husbands family owns a resort in the Poconos) and if I have learned anything in the 5yrs I have worked in the resort business....you can't please everyone!! Try Jamaica...it is the best!

My wife and I just retuirned from Couple-Negril. Our first time at an all-inclusive, but we've been going to Negril for the last 8 years. My vote was it was OK. Rooms were OK, we had a beachfront view, not a suite, which appeared OK. Not alot of room, CD was lame. TV was lame also. Food was good, not great. Service was Jammaica style. The best parts were: beach - fabulous and the drinks (free pour and brand names). Grand Lido looked better (it is next door). It was good not great, how depend on what other type of resort you have been too, certainly not a luxury type resort.

If you haven't booked as of yet-look at Swept Away by Couples THe best AI in the Caribbean. Service from arrival to departure is fantastic- sit down menu meals, buffet if you want, health oriented - the best of everything
