The LaCabana in Aruba is a great hotel for children. There are numerous pool with slides and waterfalls, They have games all day long and an activities director who sets up crafts and what not. I suggest the for adults and kids.

We're leaving for our first trip to the DR soon.....we booked at all inclusive, Sunscape the Beach after 2 families we know had gone and raved about it. It's very family oriented with lots of activities. The resort itself is just beautiful from all of the pictures we've seen. The resort has a lazy river type pool that runs from the lobby area all the way down to the beach. Everything looks and sounds great there.

I guess we all got old. Remember when Club Med was primarily a place you went to hook up, get your hair braided, buy drinks with beads and no locks on the doors? Well, nowadays its resorts are very welcoming to families. Almost to excess if you have none at some sites. But, the fact that it's all inclusive, has kids programs that get you a break and in some fantastic locales are all a plus that balances out the price for what you get! Punta Cana has been highly rated as one of the best for families, and the area is fantastic for adult activities as well.
