Have been doing some research into staying on Anguilla and really interested in a very private one or two bedroom cottage/home/villa on the beach. Anybody had any great experiences there?

I have been to Anguilla 6 or 7 times, but not in the past 3 years. Anguilla can be very quite and relaxing. It doesn't have shopping like St. Martin/Maarten. But it does have fabulous resteraunts. It can be on the expensive side. $20 for a bowl of Lobster Bisque. But their are all kinds of budgets that can be met on the island. If money is no problem and you want a place to get away from it all, Anguilla could be your place. If you are on a budget, Anguilla could be your place also, you just have to look a little deeper beneath the surface. We have stayed at a hotel on a secluded beach for about $100 a night and we were the only guests. We had the hotel and the beach to ourselves. Again, all tastes and budgets can be had there.

What part of the island are you looking at?

We've gone to Anguilla on day trips from
ST. Maarten. This January we're going
to Anguilla for a week. We are staying
at Allamanda on Shoal Bay beach. If you
look at the website, "inns.ai", you'll
see villas and small hotels that might
be of interest.
